I warn all that this was the most egregious behavior that I have witnessed by one of their poker room floor managers. It was neither, and though I attempted to advise the casino authorities that it was an opportunity to prove their honor and integrity, unfortunately they chose to not recognize that they cannot control what is called angle shooting. Interestingly, after reporting the incident to Northern Quest authorities, and to the Washington State Gambling Commission, the incident was effectively deemed proper and cogent by both Northern Quest Casino and the Washington State Gambling Commission. I had already folded my hand, so I have no personal interest other than to report what I witnessed, and I did, such that this egregious, and inconsistent ruling by the floor manager be recognized for what it was. He was told repeatedly, by the floor manager that his check and threat to raise was a verbally bound action (note that nobody can call and raise according to the rules, so how in the world can a person check and raise while it is their action). After the other player bet $500, the player who had checked wanted to fold.

The player who checked while it was his action, also did what many would call angle shooting when he stated that he would raise if the only other player in the hand bet. I will not return after an experience I saw occur in their poker room in which the floor manager opted to force a player to raise into a $500 bet. I played for many years at Northern Quest Casino.
